The best gifts are the ones that balance beautiful form with everyday function.

We want to give something that looks like a standalone piece of sculptural art on an open kitchen shelf, but is sturdy enough to use daily without a second thought. This Ink-Spot cup does exactly that, making it the perfect, stress-free gift for the coffee lover in your life (or a well-deserved treat for yourself).

The clever 'V' shape acts as a flavour enhancer: the flared lip directs a crisp espresso or specialty pour-over straight to the front of the tongue. This bypasses the bitter taste receptors at the back of the mouth, instantly highlighting the complex, bright, and fruity notes of the coffee beans.

An organic, speckled finish The Ink-Spot White glaze is completely mesmerising. It features a soft, satin-white base coat overlaid with a delicate, smoky grey speckle that mimics ink dropping and clouding into water. Because the pattern forms entirely at random inside the firing process, your cup is a completely unique piece of pottery that nobody else will ever own.

The Details:

  • Best For: Artisan flat whites, specialty pour-overs, and intense espressos.

  • Glaze Style: Satin Ink-Spot White with unique smoky grey flecks.

  • Size: Approx. 10x8cm  | Holds approx. 6 floz / 170ml.

  • Sustainability: Sourced and made in the UK, packed entirely without plastic.

Because I work in very small, intentional batches, there may be times when an item is out of stock; if so, I will happily hand-craft your piece to order, a slow-made process that typically takes between 6 to 8 weeks from the wheel to the kiln.

FAQs

Yes, unless otherwise stated the item is dishwasher safe, however to preserve the finish and help improve the longevity of your pottery, I recommend washing it by hand wherever possible.

Overtime dishwashers can cause additional wear on ceramics, especially with intricate glazes or decorations.

In particular circumstances where a lower fire clay is used, this is clear in the description of the item and while still may 'survive' a dishwasher it will effect the glaze/colours quicker.

want you to love your ceramics as much as I loved making them. However, I understand that sometimes things don't go as planned.

In the Unlikely Event of Breakages; While I pride myself on my robust, plastic-free packaging, the journey of a ceramic piece can occasionally be a bumpy one. If your item arrives damaged:

  1. Please take a photo of the broken item and the packaging it arrived in immediately.

  2. Email me at nina@ceramicsbynina.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and the photos attached.

  3. Replacement or Refund: We will either send out a replacement (subject to availability in our current small-batch stock) or issue a full refund including your original shipping costs.

Please note: As every piece is unique and hand-thrown, replacement items may have slight variations in shape or hand-painted detail compared to the original.

If your order is for a specific date please contact me ahead of ordering and we can arrange a timed and trackable delivery. This will be at an additional cost.
